This course will cover most recent breakthroughs in molecular medicine topics including:
1. High-throughput platform to identify gene and protein functions for diagnosis and therapy (microarray, robotic platform, chip development)
2. Recent breakthrough findings in stem cell biology
3. Molecular imaging (imaging device development, molecular beacon invention, imaging animal models)
4. Nano technology in biomedicine application (targeting nanoparticle and nanodrug development, nanodevice)

We will like to cover several sessions of lectures (6 to 8 sessions). The participating graduate students will then present orally for the papers assigned to them. The non-presenters are mandatorily required to participate in round table discussions (8 to 10 sessions, 50% of the credit). The students will also need to submit a term-paper at the end of semester (50% of the credit).
